Michael B. Baker, CET

Michael BakerMichael Baker is the Automatic Fire Alarm Association Training Director. Prior to joining the AFAA in 2002, he taught electrical apprenticeship classes at Clackamas Community College. Michael spent 6 years in the US Navy as an Engineering Laboratory Technician aboard nuclear submarines. He is married with 6 children, 2 grandchildren, and lives in Gladstone, Oregon. After his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1978, Michael worked in the electronic security and fire alarm industry.

 

He is a Journeyman Limited Energy Electrician in Oregon, a Master Specialty Electrician in Washington, and is NICET etnewscertified level IV in fire alarm systems. Michael is a member of the NFPA 72 Chapter 5 (Initiating Devices) technical committee. He has written several NICET test preparation handbooks and he edits the ETNEWS.org web site and newsletter.
